As you can see there is about a 3/64" gap between the Miter table and the main saw table in the front end when aligned while there is no gap at the back end of the table. Some say there's no need for miter slots on a BT3000 to use a miter sled, just use the sides of the main saw table in place of miter slots. That will only work if the sides of the main saw table are in alignment with the blade, on most BT3000's they're not.
